Can you write in 1st person when writing a critical lens essay?

I have to write a critical lens essay, which is an essay where you agree or disagree with a quote. I cannot remember if you are supposed to say “I” when writing this type of essay, (since it is your own opinion,) or if you are supposed to only state the quote as true or untrue.

thanks!

Laughter
By: Miriam Waddington

We are light
as dandelion
parachutes we land anywhere
take the shape of whereever we fall

we are often the size of
grasshoppers in a jungle of grass
or we’re squirmy chains of willow catkins

then we become curly seashells knobby little
swimmers ina sea of air lying

on our backs our eyes fly up higher than kites
airplanes clouds winds higher than star and we stare plown
at the little distant world and we laugh laugh laugh
What is the mood of this poem? what words and images help reveal the poem’s mood? What language in this poem appeals to your senses? Is there a simile or metaphor used to compare dissimiar things? Why do you like this poem?

One of my orchids grew an “offspring” on the stamp where flowers were. Should I cut it and plant it ? ?

I have an ocean side house where orchids thrive (CA). However I am not a skill orchid grower. Just want to give them what they need to reward me every year with the beautiful flowers.

What is the best way to sell a comic book collection?

October 10th, 2009
Posted by: admin

I have at least 1000 older comics, mostly from the early 90’s, though there are a few older books. Mostly Marvels (Spidey, X-men, etc), some of the newer companies (Image, Valiant) and a few of DC’s bigger stories from the 90’s. I’ve seen them for sale on E-bay, but don’t want to deal with that. Would a convention be worth looking into? Anyone know of buyers in the Chicaland area.

If you could coin a new phrase for unenvolved fathers what would it be?

October 10th, 2009

No dead beats. I think that phrase does not capture much except the anger of the mothers. Most women think that a man is no longer a dead beat if they are getting child support. But yet he does not see the kids.
What would be the phrase you would use for them?
I think the man should want to also have something to do with there kid not only paying for them.
No bad language either….well if you do bleep it out.

People injured or with some diseases or phisical problems use canes as an aid to walk. I am interested in the statistics of the number of people using canes.
